bleeeeeeeep;
my phone keeps going bleep bleep bleeeeeep, shutting off and turning itself on again. however much i would like to shut it off for good, i rely on its three alarms to wake my sleepy head in the morning.
but awake i must! i'm now working at Get Real, a sunny and lovely little vegan restaurant just north of queen on ossington avenue. perfect for herbivores, the hungover, and yoga enthusiasts.

i wanna be a southern belle;
at least i want to be dead charming and twirl in circle skirts all summer long, though laying flat out on my bed beneath the ceiling fan seems like an equally viable option. it is so bloody hot, that i am appreciating lengthy canadian winters at the moment. can i be a southern belle in antarctica? deep south, baby.

breaktiiiime;
momentary break from preparing a presentation on miranda july for nourishment, and i've just made (quite possibly) the best salad i've yet tasted.
lettuce
grilled asparagus (grilled, cold and admittedly a bit soggy from last night's dinner)
sliced strawberries
goat cheese
oil and vinegar dressing
i love my salad, and i love miranda july

i love the annex OH
i had a nice little vacation to my cottage this weekend avec the family, and have just returned to my cozy little shared apartment. and in packing for my move on june first into chinatown with jules i have realized many-a thing:
-no matter how long i'm gone for, the dishes will never get done (see: i have just finished an hour's worth of dishes... none of which are mine)
-one girl has little or need for six vintage suitcases and two hot-peach briefcases. i have this many
-i loooove my neighbourhood! and am entirely bummed that i have to leave for the summer
-when i moved here eight months ago and said "of course i'll find use for three garbage bags full of fabric", i should have known that i wouldn't
-i have three separate copies of kerouac's 'tristessa', and many other books to sell
-I HAVE SO MUCH TO MOVE AND LITTLE OR NO TIME TO MOVE IT

snakes and tea;
i fell asleep at lanie's house for a couple of hours, and told myself that when i returned home i would go straight to sleep. straight to sleep for an adequate night's rest to prepare for the excruciatingly boring day at the bar and the seven-day work week that lays ahead... so naturally, i have been sifting through the intraweb, reading magazines and catching up on foucault's notions of the imperial prude. blogging and making mix cds for a certain somebody's birthday will now occupy the remainder of my evening.
